Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Transport Shift Manager in the United Kingdom to lead a busy, temperature-controlled transport operation and deliver exceptional service while maintaining safety and compliance. You will work with drivers, planners and warehouse teams to ensure on-time, legal deliveries and continuous improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of transport legislation, and the ability to manage performance across a large operation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading transport teams in fast-paced logistics.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation including driver hours and working time directive.
• Proven ability to coach and develop drivers and operational staff.
• Track record of monitoring KPIs and driving corrective actions to improve performance.
• Knowledge of safety, compliance and licence obligations in a large transport operation.

Job description

Do you have experience leading transport teams in a fast-paced logistics operation? Can you motivate Drivers and colleagues to deliver outstanding service while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance? Are you confident in managing operational challenges, performance targets and continuous improvement initiatives?

Join GXO as a Transport Shift Manager and take responsibility for leading a busy, temperature-controlled transport operation that plays a critical role in servicing the Greene King network. Working closely with drivers, planners and warehouse teams, you'll ensure deliveries are completed safely, legally and on time while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for a transport professional who enjoys leading teams, solving operational challenges and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern of 04:00-12:00 and 12:00-20:00. Shifts are worked Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday on a rotational basis, providing operational support across the full transport operation., Lead the transport operation ensuring deliveries are completed safely and legally and on time

• Excellent knowledge of transport legislation including driver's hours and WTD

• National / international CPC and IOSH (desirable)
