Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day transport operation at the Branston B&Q site. You will lead a team of drivers, ensure safe, timely deliveries, and maintain regulatory compliance.

The role is full‑time with a 5 from 7 shift, rotating 05:30–14:00 and 13:30–22:00. Salary up to £35,370 per year plus shift premiums and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a transport supervisory or management role within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of drivers' hours regulations, tachographs, and transport compliance requirements
• Experience managing drivers and dealing confidently with performance, attendance, and operational challenges
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure
• Good IT skills and experience using transport management systems would be advantageous

• Monitor vehicle and driver performance, resolving operational issues such as delays, breakdowns, and service disruptions

• Build strong working relationships with drivers, customers, planners, and the wider transport team to support operational success

GXO is currently looking for a Transport Shift Manager to join our B&Q operation in Branston. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the transport operation, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and deliveries are operating safely, efficiently, and in line with legal and company requirements. You'll lead and support a team of drivers, resolve operational challenges, and help ensure excellent service delivery for one of the UK's leading retailers.

This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working on an any ‘5 from 7 shift basis’, typically Monday to Friday. Your hours of work will rotate weekly between 05:30 – 14:00 and 13:30 – 22:00.

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £35,370 per annum, an additional shift premium is available for hours worked before 06:00 and after 20:00.
