Job summary

The role requires a strong electrical or mechanical background and proven leadership in critical environments, with hands-on maintenance and fault-finding skills. Expect a days/nights continental shift pattern and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in critical environments (offices, data centres, healthcare).
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical building services.
• Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers and power distribution.
• Previous experience leading an engineering shift team.
• Excellent fault-finding, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused with commitment to high engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the on-site shift engineering team.
• Ensure all PPM and reactive maintenance tasks are completed using the CAFM system.
• Carry out hands-on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance when required.
• Diagnose and rectify faults to minimise downtime and ensure business continuity.
• Monitor the quality of maintenance activities, documentation and housekeeping.
• Manage spare parts and ensure stock levels.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and job documentation.
• Prepare RAMS to ensure safe systems of work.
• Support delivery of a safe, compliant and high-performing building environment.
