Job summary

Intertek's Ellesmere Port laboratory is seeking a motivated laboratory professional to join our analytical team. You will contribute to high-quality analytical testing and reporting for a diverse client base within a fast-paced environment.

The role operates on a shift basis, with extended day shifts and occasional overnight and weekend work. You will work with a collaborative team, develop technical proficiency, and uphold our commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in a related scientific subject with UKAS laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience in the chemicals industry, particularly oil and gas, is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to plan daily workloads with minimal supervision.
• Willing to be hands-on at all levels.
• Strong time management and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• IT literate with good MS Office skills.
• Flexible shift pattern including extended days and occasional overnights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support the prioritised daily workload of the analytical team in line with technical standards and client instructions.
• Collate sample analysis results and prepare final reports for proofreading and client delivery.
• Sign reports where authorised.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior staff in routine analytical techniques.
• Foster teamwork and continuous improvement to achieve results.
