Job summary

Intertek Group in Ellesmere Port is seeking a motivated laboratory professional to support analytical testing and reporting for a diverse client base. You will work within a shift-based team, delivering high-quality results across a fast-paced environment.

The role offers opportunities to develop technical expertise, contribute to quality and safety standards, and collaborate with a global network. Extended day shifts and occasional overnights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC in related scientific subject and working experience in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
• Experience in the chemicals industry in the oil and gas sector preferred.
• Excellent organisation to manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Willing to be hands-on at all levels.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
• IT literate with good level of MS Office skills.
• Flexible working hours with extended days, occasional overnight and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support prioritised daily workload of analytical team in line with technical standards and client instructions.
• Colate sample analysis results and prepare final reports for proofreading and client delivery.
• Sign reports where authorised.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior staff in routine analytical techniques.
• Foster teamwork to improve performance and achieve results.
