Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is seeking two experienced Handypersons to join a busy on-site facilities team in Birmingham. The role covers reactive repairs to building fabric, plumbing, small groundworks, joinery and decoration, with support for office moves and furniture relocations.

The positions operate on a 4 on 4 off pattern, 10am–10pm, with a competitive salary and 25 days leave plus bank holidays. On-call duties apply as needed in a FMCG facilities environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in maintenance or handyperson role.
• Strong background in commercial building maintenance.
• Physically able to meet the demands of the role (lifting, standing).
• Flexible shift-based availability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive building fabric repairs.
• Perform general plumbing repairs and replace sanitaryware components.
• Complete basic groundworks and landscaping repairs (repointing, paving, fences).
• Undertake minor joinery and decoration works.
• Support office moves and furniture relocations.
• Ensure the site remains safe, tidy and presentable.
• Carry out general site cleaning duties.
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete work efficiently.

Shift‑Based Handyperson - Birmingham - Global Facilities Management Organisation: FMCG

CBW Staffing Solutions are looking for two experienced and reliable Handypersons to join our client’s on‑site facilities team based in Birmingham.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to the building fabric, plumbing and sanitaryware replacements, and small‑scale groundworks such as repointing, levelling paving slabs and fence repairs. You’ll also undertake minor joinery and decoration work, and assist with office or desk moves when required.

This is a varied, hands‑on role within a busy FMCG environment, ensuring the site remains safe, fully operational and well maintained.

We have two opportunities available, working a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 10am–10pm.

Package

• Competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum
• 4 on 4 off shift pattern

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson role
• Strong background in commercial building maintenance
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, climbing and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to working within a shift‑based environment
