Job summary

Arriva TrainCare in Crewe is seeking a Fitter/Electrician to maintain rail vehicles to laid down procedures within the Crewe depot. You will operate rail vehicles as required and ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with hands-on rail vehicle maintenance experience and good drawing interpretation skills. A supportive team environment and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in rail vehicle maintenance.
• Good understanding of depot operations and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager within set timescales and to recognised standards.
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
• Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
• Ensure work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
• Adhere to Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions.
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring necessary action is taken on items raised.
• Undertake Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments under guidance of Team Leader.
