Job summary

Saputo UK is seeking a hands-on shift engineer to support two packaging production areas. You will maintain automated systems including slicers, bagging and sealing equipment, and use fault-finding techniques on mechanical and electrical systems.

The role emphasizes predictive maintenance, data capture, and improving line efficiency to meet KPIs. A multi-skilled engineer with an HNC/HND and TPM/lean experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, reactive maintenance across packaging lines.
• HNC or HND preferred.
• Fault-finding with PLCs is advantageous.
• Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Experience in a TPM environment.
• Ability to interpret data to improve plant efficiency and reduce losses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain multiple automated packaging lines (slicers, baggers, sealers, weighers).
• Optimize line performance to hit KPIs for reliability and efficiency.
• Capture and record plant performance data.
• Carry out maintenance activities to drive predictive tasks and prevent failures.
