Job summary

Arla is recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer at Taw Valley Creamery in the North Devon area. The role operates on a 4 on/4 off days and nights, with 12-hour shifts, as the site undergoes a £180 million transformation to expand and enhance production capabilities.

You will provide critical breakdown support, perform planned maintenance via the CMMS, and use root cause analysis to drive improvements while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced FMCG or regulated manufacturing is essential.
• Time-served or apprentice-trained as electrical, mechanical, or multiskilled engineer with NVQ 3/ONC or higher.
• Structured problem solving skills including root cause analysis and fault finding; computer literate with CMMS (SAP PM) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide breakdown support across a 24/7 site from chilling systems to cheese processing equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing via the CMMS system.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose breakdowns using root cause analysis to drive improvements.
• Champion health and safety in line with SOPs and risk assessments.
• Support and contribute to site projects and development.
