Job summary

Arla Foods Limited, Stourton site in Leeds, is seeking a Senior Shift Engineer to provide technical leadership across our advanced dairy manufacturing facility on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

You will lead fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment, support a team of five engineers, deliver planned maintenance and continuous improvement, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards in a high-volume operation.

Qualifications

• You’ll be a time-served, apprentice-trained engineer with a recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent.
• Experience within FMCG, food, dairy, packaging or other high-volume manufacturing environments is essential.
• You’ll have fault-finding capabilities and experience with PLCs, motors, safety circuits, inverters, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and gearboxes.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering response to breakdowns with advanced fault finding and technical decision-making.
• Support and guide Shift Engineers on shift as the senior engineering point of contact.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across PLC-controlled equipment and process systems.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance and drive reliability improvements.
• Champion health and safety standards and contribute to site continuous improvement.
