Job summary

Wates Property Services are seeking an Electrically Biased Shift Engineer to join our Facilities Management team at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey. This role focuses on delivering first-class building maintenance, carrying out PPMs, reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs across electrical and building services within a live environment.

• Proven experience in facilities management or building services.
• Level 3 Electrical qualification is essential.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) – essential.
• Experience on commercial electrical systems in live environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with Planned Preventive Maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Good health & safety knowledge and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on electrical systems and building services.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Ensure maintenance tasks comply with electrical regulations and health & safety requirements.

As an Electrically Biased Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a wide range of electrical and building services systems. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant and efficient environment while delivering exceptional service standards.,

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities with a primary focus on electrical systems and associated building services plant.
• Diagnose electrical faults and undertake repairs efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in line with statutory compliance, electrical regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Monitor building systems and plant performance to maximise operational efficiency.
• Complete accurate records and documentation using CAFM systems.
• Support the wider engineering team during shifts and planned maintenance activities.
• Liaise professionally with client representatives, contractors and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, energy efficiency and asset reliability.

About You

We're looking for an experienced electrically qualified engineer who is passionate about delivering excellent facilities management services. You will have:

• Proven experience within a facilities management, building services or maintenance environment.
• Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent) - essential.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) - essential.
• Experience working on commercial electrical systems within a live environment.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial building services systems.
• Good understanding of health & safety and compliance legislation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a shift team.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work.

Desirable

• Experience working within a prestigious or customer-facing FM environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical plant and building services systems.
• Experience using CAFM systems.
