Job summary

Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge is seeking a Shift Engineer to cover 7am to 7pm shifts on a 4 days on / 4 days off pattern. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance across a high-profile site, ensuring building systems performance, energy efficiency and safety compliance.

You will perform first-line maintenance on pumps, motors, drives, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs and SCADA, and you will monitor and optimise systems to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electrical Installation and 18th Edition.
• Proven experience in building services maintenance.
• IOSH Working Safely certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete help desk tasks within agreed timeframes.
• Carry out first-line maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant.
• Monitor and optimise building systems for efficiency.
• Operate and maintain building services in line with regulations.
• Occasional event coverage; overtime when outside shift pattern.

About The Role

WPS is seeking a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join our dedicated team at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge. This role involves delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a high-profile site, with a strong focus on building systems performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete help desk tasks (planned and reactive) within agreed timeframes, ensuring accurate reporting and handover to the Manager
• Carry out first-line maintenance on all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps, motors, drives, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs, and SCADA systems
• Monitor and optimise building systems to ensure efficient operation and continuous improvement, with a focus on sustainability
• Operate and maintain building services systems in line with site procedures and statutory regulations
• Provide occasional event coverage, paid as overtime if outside of shift pattern
• Occasionally support other sites as required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a similar electrical engineering role within facilities or building services maintenance
• Up-to-date electrical qualifications and a solid understanding of statutory regulations and industry codes of practice
• IOSH Working Safely certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to high standards and quality assurance
• Ability to work effectively within a continental shift rota
