Job summary

HVAC Recruitment is seeking a Shift Engineer (Mechanical Bias) in the Salisbury area for a static site role. The position focuses on monitoring the BMS, alarm response, and basic maintenance to ensure site reliability and compliance.

The ideal candidate has experience in facilities/building services or commercial maintenance with a mechanical bias and is comfortable with BMS systems. You will work days and nights and may need BPSS clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience within Facilities Management, Building Services or Commercial Maintenance.
• Mechanical bias preferred, strong general maintenance background also considered.
• Comfortable using or monitoring BMS systems.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Able to work a shift pattern covering both days and nights.
• Willingness to obtain BPSS security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the BMS (Building Management System) and respond to alarms.
• Identify issues and elevate faults when required.
• Carry out basic mechanical and building services checks.
• Complete routine site inspections.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records and update reports.
• Work alongside the wider engineering team to ensure site compliance.

Are you a Shift Engineer looking for a stable static role with excellent earning potential?

We're recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management team supporting a highly secure, specialist environment in the Salisbury area.

This role would suit an engineer with a mechanical bias or a strong building services/fabric maintenance background. You don't need to be heavily technical — the focus is on monitoring systems, responding to alarms and ensuring the smooth operation of the site.

The Role

• Monitor the BMS (Building Management System) and respond to alarms
