Job summary

Valeo Foods UK is seeking an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer to join our fast-moving Lancashire site. You will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, install and commission machinery, assist with setup and changeovers, and drive up-time through CMMS-backed maintenance and continuous improvement projects.

We require a minimum Level 3 engineering qualification, competency in isolation and electrical safety, and solid FMCG experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering qualification minimum Level 3.
• Competent in isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry.
• Experience in FMCG operations.
• PC literate and able to use computer-based maintenance systems.
• Flexible and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Efficient diagnosis and correction of faults site-wide.
• Installation and commissioning of new and repaired machinery.
• Assist with machinery adjustments, changeovers and setup.
• Machine performance improvements and reduction of downtime.
• Maintain CMMS entries including breakdown reporting, PPM and corrective actions.
• Prioritisation of repair work based on business priorities.
• Support external contractors and CI projects.
• Support capital projects development and implementation.
• Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards.

Job description

• Efficient diagnosis and correction of electrical and mechanical faults site-wide
• Installation and commissioning of all new and repaired machinery and equipment
• Assist manufacturing with machinery adjustments, changeovers and set up
• Machine performance improvements and reduction of downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Daily responsible utilising the CMMS system as applicable:
• + The daily reporting of breakdowns
• + Complete all assigned PPM & corrective activities
• + Prioritisation of repair work based on business priorities
• + Understanding failure - root cause analysis experience of FMECA
• + Supporting External Contractors
• + Technical support for production when required
• To maintain the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean as you go policy
• To maintain the highest standards in completing paperwork and CMMS entries ensuring the quality of information is clear and concise.
• Supporting with Capital Projects development and implementation.
• Support the CI culture and related projects across the engineering and Production department
• Relevant engineering qualification minimum Level 3
• Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry

• PC Literate (thereby able to use computer-based maintenance systems)
