Zenith Advisory Partners Ltd in Leicester is seeking an Engineering Technician (mech and elec) to maintain high-speed automated lines. You'll diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and support production teams on shift in a 4 on 4 off pattern.
You'll ensure compliance with safety standards, keep drawings and records up to date, and contribute to continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades under the Engineering Supervisor.
This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing facility running high-speed, automated production lines. The business places a strong emphasis on safety, reliability and continuous improvement, and offers a genuinely supportive engineering culture where new ideas and challenge are welcomed.
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you'll work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights, taking ownership of mechanical maintenance and engineering activity across the site, including high-speed production lines, converting equipment and site utilities. Day to day you'll carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical systems, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and drive systems, execute planned preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns, and respond to and root-cause equipment failures. You'll ensure all mechanical work meets legal, regulatory and site safety standards, including LOTO procedures, and keep drawings, documentation and equipment records up to date. You'll also provide hands-on technical support to production teams during your shift and get involved in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and new machinery installations alongside the Engineering Supervisor.
ZAP are searching for candidates with an NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or equivalent (or a time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship). You'll need solid experience of mechanical maintenance and fault-finding within a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally on high-speed automated machinery, plus a track record delivering PPM and working within strict safety and compliance frameworks. An HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage.
This role offers real scope to develop into more senior engineering positions, with exposure to equipment upgrade projects and continuous improvement work that will broaden your technical skillset. For the right candidate looking to build a long-term career in a business that genuinely invests in its engineering team, this is a strong next step.
