Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is assisting a major UK facilities management contractor to recruit a Shift Electrical Engineer. This role offers diverse, long‑term career progression across multiple sites within a growing portfolio.

You will deliver planned and reactive FM electrical maintenance, fault finding, installations and system upgrades. You’ll supervise visiting subcontractors, complete documentation on time, and work safely in line with policies while supporting other property teams when

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification or time-served experience.
• IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (advantageous).
• HV switching experience (advantageous).
• Experience with power supplies, lighting, meters, circuit boards and pumps.
• Ability to diagnose and repair faults.
• Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and promptly.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete associated reports.
• Conduct fault-finding, planned maintenance and reactive repairs for electrical plant.
• Support team members as directed by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
• Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
• Complete electrical installations and system upgrades on site.
• Supervise visiting sub-contractors, ensuring safe and high-quality work.
• Adopt a flexible approach to support other properties within the portfolio.
• Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
• Work safely and diligently, following company policies and procedures.
• Participate fully in training, appraisals and development activities.
• Undertake training in mechanical maintenance and assist the mechanical team when required.
