Job summary

Irwin & Colton in Wrexham seeks a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to lead site-wide SHEQ strategy, ensure legal compliance and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

You will oversee audits, incident investigations, training and contractor safety, partnering with regulators and the business to maintain high standards of sustainability and safety excellence at the site.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) with a strong background in waste, heavy industrial or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, environmental permitting, and management systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, confident working with regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong SHEQ culture across the site, engaging all levels of staff.
• Oversee site SHEQ management systems, including audits, inspections, emergency planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Manage contractor safety, SHEQ training, health surveillance, and environmental compliance.
