Job summary

Irwin & Colton is seeking an experienced Interim SHEQ Manager to lead Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality activities at our North Wales site. You will provide expert advice, ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards, and drive continuous improvement across all SHEQ areas.

The role focuses on embedding a safety-first culture, managing hazards and incidents, and coordinating health programmes with a commitment to sustainability and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Level 6 qualification in Health & Safety or Environment or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of environmental permitting, legislative compliance and management systems.
• Experience in waste, incineration or a comparable hazardous industry.
• Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and promote safety-first culture.
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and embed a strong SHEQ culture across the site.
• Manage hazard identification, risk assessments, and process safety activities.
• Oversee site SHEQ management systems including audits, inspections, and emergency planning.
• Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Manage contractor safety, inductions, training and occupational health programmes.
