Job summary

Principal People Recruitment is partnering with a leading construction contractor to recruit a SHEQ Assurance Manager near Leeds for a hybrid role.

You will develop and maintain the IMS, lead external audits to ensure ISO 9001/14001/45001 accreditation, and drive continuous improvement. You will manage contractor compliance, report to the Director, and provide data-driven insights to the SLT.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining an IMS to ISO standards.
• Experience leading external audits with zero major non-conformances.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and contractor management.

Principal People are delighted to be working with a leading, multi disciplined principal contractor to recruit for SHEQ Assurance Manager to join their core safety Team.

As the SHEQ Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and updating processes to ensure ongoing compliance with their Integrated Business Management System (IMS). You will lead efforts to maintain accreditation to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, alongside maintaining crucial company accreditations.

The SHEQ Assurance Manager will be Responsible for:

• Developing, improve and maintaining a compliant Business Management System, ensuring legislative compliance and alignment with ISO standards.
• Leading external audits to ensure zero major non-conformances and continually reviewing and updating the system to reflect business changes.
• Work on continuous improvement of company processes
• Responsible for contractor management
• Maintaining the organisation's accreditations and ensuring strong company compliance
• Developing and maintaining an audit strategy, completing audit reports in a timely manner, and promoting awareness of legislative and industry standards across the business.
• Take ownership of SHEQ data, metrics and insights

The SHEQ Assurance Manager will hold:

• Excellent working knowledge of ISO standards, with recognised lead auditing qualification.
• Level 6 H&S qualification
• Strong regulatory SHEQ experience
• Experience in the construction sector (Refurbishment or fit out experience desirable)
• Have led on ISO management audits
• Any environmental based experience is desirable
• Experience of delivering reports to board / SLT s
• Strong IT skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
