Job summary

Irwin and Colton is seeking a dynamic SHEQ Manager in Guildford to oversee company-wide adherence to legislation and support the development of integrated management systems. The role focuses on promoting a strong safety ethos through training, audits and stakeholder engagement.

You will conduct site visits, safety inspections, and compliance audits, while supporting incident investigations and corrective actions. Strong communication and NEBOSH qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing HSQE in a multi-site civil engineering or similar environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
• A relevant health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

We are working with a well-established Civil Engineering company who are seeking a dynamic SHEQ Manager to oversee company-wide adherence to legislation, support the development of integrated management systems, and promote a strong safety ethos through training, audits, and stakeholder engagement.

The key responsibilities include:

• Developing, updating, and implementing HSQE policies, procedures, and manuals across the organisation.
• Conducting site visits, safety inspections, and compliance audits to identify and address hazards.
• Supporting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
• Promoting safety awareness through training programmes and internal communication initiatives.

The successful candidate will have:
