Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 8a Shared Patient Record Technical Systems Lead to oversee day-to-day technical management, optimisation and development of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Shared Patient Record. The role combines leadership with expert technical delivery across interoperability, testing and supplier engagement.

You will work with NHS partners and suppliers, including Oracle Health Cerner, to ensure secure, reliable and compliant data sharing,

Qualifications

Degree-level qualification in information technology, computer science, health informatics or related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Evidence of continuing professional development in digital technologies, interoperability, systems integration or related disciplines.
Relevant technical qualifications or experience in interoperability, data exchange, infrastructure, applications support or digital service delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead design, configuration, testing and implementation of system enhancements and data-sharing capabilities.
Act as technical SME for interoperability architecture, data flows, interfaces, APIs and GP Connect.
Investigate and resolve complex technical incidents and data-quality issues to maintain service continuity.
Coordinate onboarding of new organisations and data-sharing partners; manage supplier relationships.
