Job summary

IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) in Harrogate & Craven is recruiting for a dedicated individual to provide practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence, including young people aged 13+ and their families. You will accompany clients through the criminal justice process and help develop personalised coping plans.

You will conduct holistic needs assessments, assist with referrals to counselling, health services and legal support, and contribute to safeguarding and staff

• Experience providing practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence.
• Ability to support clients through the criminal justice process.
• Conduct holistic needs assessments and develop personalised cope and recovery plans.
• Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence, including young people aged 13+ and parents.
• Support clients through the criminal justice process, including court preparation and liaison with police and CPS.
• Complete holistic needs assessments and develop personalised cope and recovery plans.
• Make referrals to specialist services such as counselling, sexual health clinics, and legal support.
• Participate in the IDAS helpline and respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Act as an internal advisor on sexual violence and deliver training to staff and external agencies.
• Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible and responsive to underrepresented communities.
