IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) seeks an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) for Harrogate & Craven. The role provides practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence, guides clients through criminal justice processes, and delivers holistic plans while training staff and safeguarding communities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting victims of sexual violence or domestic abuse.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment principles.
• Ability to liaise with police, CPS, and criminal justice processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to victims aged 13+ and parents.
• Support clients through the criminal justice process, including court prep and liaising with police and CPS.
• Complete holistic needs assessments and develop cope/ recovery plans.
• Explain rights and Victims Code commitments; support on Criminal Injuries and safeguards.
• Make referrals to counselling, sexual health clinics, and legal support.
• Participate in the IDAS helpline and respond to safeguarding concerns.
• Act as an internal advisor on sexual violence and deliver staff training.
• Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in service accessibility.
