Job summary

IDAS invites applications for an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) based in Scarborough & Ryedale. The role offers permanent, with flexible hours (full-time or part-time via job share) and a salary around £29,542 per year.

You will support victims of sexual violence, assist with criminal justice processes, and coordinate referrals to specialist services in a diverse community. IDAS emphasises safeguarding, equality and inclusion, and a commitment to safe recruitment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting victims of sexual violence or abuse.
• Ability to work with young people (13+) and parents.
• Experience delivering training and information to staff or partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence.
• Support clients through the criminal justice process, including court preparation and liaison with police and CPS.
• Complete holistic needs assessments and develop cope and recovery plans.
• Inform clients of their rights and case progress in line with the Victims Code of Practice.
