Job summary

Search Consultancy are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer with own kit for an immediate start in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. The role covers interpreting drawings, setting out, recording levels and coordinates, and ensuring quality control on a civil engineering site.

Required qualifications include CSCS, SSSTS, and civil engineering credentials. You will work with Total Stations, GNSS rovers and levels, with on-site parking available.

Qualifications

• A valid CSCS card is required.
• Own hand tools and marking kit are needed.
• A valid SSSTS and First Aid at Work would be advantageous.
• A qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND) is preferred.
• A degree in Civil Engineering would be advantageous.
• A qualification in engineering surveying and Setting Out is required.
• OWN HEAVY SURVEYING kit/equipment is essential.
• Site experience and checkable references are important.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting civil, structural, and architectural drawings and checking them against on-site work.
• Setting Out and marking lines, levels, and coordinates for structures, roads or drainage.
• Using survey gear including Total Stations, GNSS rovers, and automatic levels.
• Quality control of built works and ensuring design tolerances are met.
• Record final positions of pipes, foundations or kerbs and resolve clashes.
• Report drawing errors or site clashes to the project manager or senior engineer.
