Job summary

Search Consultancy is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer with own kit for an immediate start in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. You will read and check civil, structural and architectural drawings, set out lines and levels, and mark coordinates on site for roads, drainage and structures.

Responsibilities include operating Total Stations, GNSS rovers and automatic levels, ensuring design tolerances, and reporting any drawing errors or site clashes to the project manager.

Qualifications

• Read and check civil, structural and architectural drawings.
• Set out lines, levels and coordinates on ground for structures, roads or drainage.
• Operate surveying gear including Total Stations and GNSS receivers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings to ensure construction aligns with design tolerances.
• Set out and mark positions on site for civil works.
• Use surveying equipment to measure, record and verify alignment and levels.
• Report clashes or drawing errors to the project manager or senior engineer.

Search Consultancy are looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer with 'own kit' for an immediate start in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

Civils

7 days a week

Day rate

Free parking on site

Duties will include for Road Formation.

• Interpreting Drawings: Read and check civil, structural, and architectural drawings
• Setting Out
• Mark lines, levels, and coordinates on the ground for structures, roads, or drainage
• Using Survey Gear
• Operate Total Stations, GNSS (GPS) rovers, and automatic levels
• Quality Control
• Check that built works match the design tolerances.As-Built Surveys
• Record final positions of installed pipes, foundations, or kerbs.Resolving Clashes
• Report drawing errors or site clashes to the project manager or senior engineer

Candidates will require:

• A valid CSCS card
• Own hand tools and marking kit
• A valid SSSTS and First Aid at Work would be advantageous
• Valid HNC or HND in Civil Engineering
• A degree in Civil Engineering would be advantageous
• A valid qualification in engineering surveying and Setting Out
• **OWN HEAVY SURVEYING kit/equipment
• The relative site experience
