Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is recruiting a Setting Out Engineer on a three-month contract in Oxford to join the civils team on a major substation build. You will ensure everything is built in the right place, to the right levels and tolerances, from groundworks through to foundations, cable routes and steel bases.

You'll work from design drawings, tighten quality, establish control points, produce as-built surveys and support site engineers while maintaining HSE standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil construction projects.
• Confident with total stations, GPS/GNSS and levels.
• Able to read and work from civils and structural drawings.
• Experience setting out groundworks, foundations and drainage.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Setting out the site: structures, foundations, drainage, roads, cable trenches, ducts and earthing.
• Establishing and maintaining site control points and benchmarks.
• Checking levels, lines and tolerances as work progresses, and signing off against the drawings.
• Producing as-built surveys and keeping accurate records.
• Working from design drawings and spotting clashes or errors early.
• Supporting the site engineers and supervisors with day-to-day survey needs.
• Keeping to site health, safety and quality standards at all times.
