ARC Group are recruiting a Freelance Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer for a long-term infrastructure project in Sudbury, Suffolk. Immediate start, 12 months+ duration, with a daily rate of £350-£375 depending on experience and CIS or LTD status.

The role focuses on setting out duct routes, earthworks, trenches and associated civils work, reporting to the Senior Engineer, and ensuring QA and accurate records across the section.

Formación

• Previous experience as Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer.
• Strong setting-out experience in civils, utilities, groundworks or infrastructure.
• Competent with Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.

Freelance Site Engineer - Civils / Utilities Location: Sudbury, Suffolk Rate: £350-£375 per day CIS OR LTD, depending on experience Duration: 12 months+ Start: ASAP ARC Group are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer for a long-term infrastructure project in the Sudbury area. The position offers genuine continuity of work, with an anticipated duration of at least 12 months, and would suit an Engineer with a strong background in civils, utilities, groundworks or infrastructure. The works are predominantly centred around underground cable ducting and associated civils, including trenching, duct installation, earthworks and backfilling. Reporting into the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering and setting-out requirements across your section of the works.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out duct routes, trenches, levels and associated civil engineering works
Providing engineering support throughout duct installation and backfilling Checking line, level and position against drawings and specifications Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate records Completing QA documentation and engineering checks Liaising with site management, supervisors and subcontractors Supporting earthworks, drainage and associated civils activities where required Ensuring works are delivered accurately and in accordance with the drawings and specification

What We're Looking For

Previous experience working as a Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer Strong setting-out experience within civils, utilities, groundworks or infrastructure Competent using Total Station and GPS equipment Able to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently Good understanding of QA, as-builts and engineering records Valid CSCS card Experience with Leica iCON would be beneficial, although Engineers experienced with Leica, Trimble, Topcon or similar equipment will be
considered. Survey equipment can be provided.
