Job summary

ARC Group are recruiting a Freelance Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer for a long-term infrastructure project in Sudbury, Suffolk. Immediate start, 12 months+ duration, with a daily rate of £350-£375 depending on experience and CIS or LTD status.

The role focuses on setting out duct routes, earthworks, trenches and associated civils work, reporting to the Senior Engineer, and ensuring QA and accurate records across the section.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer.
• Strong setting-out experience in civils, utilities, groundworks or infrastructure.
• Competent with Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.

Responsibilities

• Setting out duct routes, trenches, levels and civil works.
• Provide engineering support during duct installation and backfilling.
• Check line, level and position against drawings and specs.
• Carry out as-built surveys and maintain records.
• Complete QA documentation and engineering checks.
• Liaise with site management, supervisors and subcontractors.
