Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join our team in the UK. The role centers on precise setting out for civil and infrastructure projects using GPS, total stations, and advanced surveying equipment.

You will interpret complex drawings, establish control points, and ensure measurements meet tight tolerances on site. You will work with AutoCAD for drafting and reviewing construction plans, collaborate with project managers and site teams, and contribute to QA inspections while

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Surveying, or related discipline.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• First Aid at Work certificate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out for construction works using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and site plans.
• Use AutoCAD to review, interpret, and work with technical drawings and construction plans.
• Establish site control points, benchmarks, and reference grids.
• Verify dimensions, levels, and alignments before and during construction.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure work complies with design specifications and tolerances.
• Produce and maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information.
• Liaise with project managers, site managers, subcontractors, and designers to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and assist with inspections.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Support project planning by identifying potential engineering challenges and proposing practical solutions.
