Job summary

The Manchester College is seeking an enthusiastic Sessional Music Tutor to cover music classes across levels within our Manchester campus. This ADHOC role focuses on delivering practical, inclusive sessions that bring current industry insights into the classroom and support student development.

You will work with our Music team to provide engaging experiences, share professional expertise, and potentially deliver masterclasses or workshops in your area of expertise.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience or a teaching qualification would be an advantage, but we are also interested in hearing from experienced industry practitioners who are new to education.
• Current and valid industry specialism.
• Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
• Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
• English and maths minimum level 2 Grade C or grade 4 and above.
• Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
• Proven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism.
• Working as a team.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet delivery targets and plans.
• Accurate and timely reports and records.
• Positive contribution to planning processes.
• Strong professional experience within the music industry or a relevant specialist area.
• The ability to engage and inspire 16–19-year-old students with a range of skills and experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
• A genuine passion for developing emerging musical talent.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and industry-connected Music Tutor to join our team on an ADHOC basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate music professional who enjoys working with young people and can bring current industry knowledge, practical expertise and creativity into the classroom.

The role

As a Sessional Music Tutor, you will support the delivery of our music curriculum by:

• Providing cover for music classes across a range of levels and pathways.
• Delivering engaging, practical and inclusive sessions that support students to develop their musical and technical skills.
• Sharing your industry knowledge and professional experience with aspiring musicians, producers and creatives.
• Potentially delivering masterclasses, workshops and specialist sessions within your area of expertise.
• Supporting students to develop their confidence, creativity and employability skills.
• Working collaboratively with the Music team to ensure a positive and supportive learning experience for our students.
