The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning & Employability at Kingston College is seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach GCSE Computer Science and BTEC First Award in Information and Creative Technology. The role will commence in August 2025. These students are on either ESOL Level 1 Horizons course or the full-time GCSE Course.

You will develop and implement student assessment strategies in accordance with college policies and the requirements of awarding bodies. You will participate fully in professional development activities, including lesson observation, training, re-training, and acquiring essential qualifications. As an active course team member, you will participate in meetings, in-service training, and keep up to date with Quality Improvement initiatives, ensuring service standards are met.

We require candidates to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one), and demonstrate excellent teaching skills in Computer Science with recent professional development. Awareness of academic quality standards, high personal standards, enthusiasm, and passion for education are essential.

The ability to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning, support and motivate learners, monitor progress, and possess good planning, organizational, and administrative skills is also required. Candidates should have good attention to detail, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be eligible for salary increases based on the annual cost of living review in the upcoming academic year.
