The role
We are seeking to appoint a Faculty Librarian to support the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, who will join our wider team working to create strong partnerships and relationships between the Faculty and Library and Learning Services.
In this role, you will be the key point of contact for supporting academics with teaching and learning activities, collection development and management alongside supporting the research culture by delivering support, guidance and training for research staff and PGRs.
Working closely with colleagues in our Content, Open Research and Learning Development teams you will play a key role in the Library’s offering at the University as well as working with many departments around the institution.
You will play a significant role in shaping the innovative development of Library support for academic activity.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative and adaptable professional who has experience in an academic environment and can demonstrate a passion for fostering learning, promoting and delivering research skills and knowledge-sharing.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, and will be someone who enjoys collaborating with different teams to deliver high quality and user-centred services to our diverse university community.
You will have strong digital skills, be excited about using new tools and technologies and be committed to staying current with the latest trends in academic libraries as well has having an commitment to your own on-going development.
An understanding of the current Higher Education landscape for information provision is essential and experience of subjects within the Faculty would be an advantage.
You will also be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion.
There is an expectation that the post holder will work some days on campus and that they will be able to support colleagues across the team as needed.
