As a Services Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing a range of services for use by the whole development team. You will work with the Online and Gameplay teams to deliver and deploy services that they can seamlessly integrate features into, looking for ways to improve the scalability and flexibility of those systems at every opportunity. As a Senior team member, you will share your knowledge with those with less experience to ensure high quality code is created throughout the team.

Key Duties

• Contribute towards development, maintenance and deployment of live service code base
• Implement live service features considering performance & scalability.
• Work alongside other disciplines (design, art, production) to gather requirements for live service features
• Establish online service features such as matchmaking, friends, and commerce
• Support less experienced team members, mentoring them, and raising the standards of the whole Engineering team
• Champion quality within Lighthouse Games and our online services development
• Actively take part in our collaborative and creative team spirit

• Support less experienced team members, mentoring them, and raising the standards of the whole Engineering team
• Champion quality within Lighthouse Games and our online services development

Requirements

• Experience working closely with the design and technical teams to implement robust and scalable online services
• Demonstrable experience of planning and development of large bodies of work, with minimal supervision
• Examples of clean and robust code, following all standards and guidelines, including the use of automated testing processes
• Experience in risk awareness: Be aware of risks in your work and the wider project, and actively mitigate them
• Experience with mentoring engineers at both junior and midlevel
