Job summary

VIQU IT in the Midlands is seeking a Service Designer/Architect for a 6-month hybrid assignment starting ASAP to build a repeatable Service Transition framework and supporting capability across the application estate.

You will define processes and documentation, engage IT and business stakeholders, and establish governance, ownership, and operational readiness to enable BAU handover and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering a formal Service Transition framework and supporting processes.
• Ability to define and deliver practical, usable governance and documentation.
• Proven track record building frameworks across large application estates.
• Experience engaging IT and business stakeholders and resolving priorities.
• Experience with 3rd parties and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and drive decisions from incomplete direction.
• Knowledge management and process improvement experience would be valuable.

Responsibilities

• Build a repeatable Service Transition framework and the supporting capability.
• Create a consistent method to determine IT ownership and entry order with controls.
• Cover assessment, ownership, support, acceptance, readiness, governance, reporting, escalation, knowledge transfer and BAU handover.
• Build, test and improve the framework for use across the wider application estate.
• Engage IT and business stakeholders, challenge priorities, drive decisions and take ownership.

Requirements:

• Experience of delivering a framework that can be developed, applied and refined
• Experience of developing and defining a formal Service Transition framework, supporting processes or complete documentation
• Experience of determining what exists, what is missing, what good should look like, and the recommended plan for establishing the function
• Experience of defining and delivering a practical Service Transition framework, with the processes and documentation required to use it
• Experience of building, testing and improving the framework so that it can subsequently be used across the wider application estate
• Experience of assessing an immature Service Transition capability and then designing and implementing the framework, governance, processes, and documentation
• Experience of working with ambiguity, engaging IT and business stakeholders, challenging priorities, driving decisions and taking ownership without waiting for detailed direction
• Experience of knowledge management and wider process improvement would be valuable
• Experience of working with 3rd parties
