Job summary

PMC Commerce is seeking a Service Design & Transition Specialist on a UK-based contract (6–12 months). The role is remote with regular on-site travel, starting immediately, to lead the transition of a live project into BAU and design a reusable Service Design & Transition framework.

You will review IT service management practices, develop governance templates, and engage stakeholders across business and IT to ensure operational readiness and timely updates throughout the engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Service Design and/or Service Transition within complex IT environments.
• Experience transitioning projects into BAU support.
• Knowledge of ITIL Service Management (ITIL Foundation minimum).
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience creating practical frameworks, documentation and governance processes.

Service Design & Transition Specialist – Contract (6–12 Months)

We’re looking for an experienced Service Design & Transition Specialist to support a key client on an exciting contract assignment.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the transition of a critical project into Business-as-Usual (BAU) support while designing a repeatable Service Design & Transition framework that will support future programmes across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the successful transition of a live project into BAU support.
• Review current IT service management practices and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop a reusable Service Design & Transition methodology, including templates, governance and best practices.
• Ensure operational readiness through effective planning, documentation and stakeholder engagement.
• Build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders and provide regular progress updates.

Working Arrangements

This is a UK-based contract opportunity. The role is primarily remote, with regular on-site attendance (typically 1–2 days per week) required to work closely with key stakeholders during critical phases of the engagement.
