Job summary

DM Keith Ltd in York is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose and repair a range of mechanical faults, returning vehicles to manufacturer standards. Training will be provided, with brand training travel mandatory for the role and experience in a franchised dealer or independent garage viewed favourably.

You will need a Full UK driving licence and your own tools. The role offers 40 hours per week, 4 days, with 1 in 3 weekends, and a market‑leading salary plus bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• MOT Tester preferred.
• High Voltage certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Experience in a franchised dealer or busy volume environment is advantageous but not essential.
• Travel for brand training may be required and supported by the company.

We are currently looking for a Service Technician to come and join our York site.

About You

Your duties will depend upon your experience and training but as a skilled Technician/Mechanic, you will be able to undertake both minor and major mechanical faults (including engine repairs) and return vehicles back to manufacturer specification and standards.

We are welcoming applications from Technicians who are NVQ level 3 trained or equivalent. Experience working within a busy volume franchised dealer environment is an advantage but not crucial if you currently work at an independent garage/dealer.

Full training will be provided for those joining as a trainee, giving you opportunity to attend manufacturer Courses and access to continuous internal coaching and support. Please note that offsite travel for brand training is a mandatory requirement for this role.

What will you need to succeed in the role:

• Drive, passion and enthusiasm to succeed.
• Demonstrate capability and confidence in using equipment within the workshop safely.
• At least NVQ level 3trained with work experience in a franchised dealer or independent garage.
• MOT Tester preferred.
• Experience in used car prep.
• High Voltage certification is desirable, but not expected
