Job summary

A permanent/full-time Vehicle Technician role is available in Grantham within a leading UK automotive group. The ideal candidate is Level 3 qualified, or Level 2 with at least 3 years’ experience, and holds a full UK driving licence. Excellent salary, bonuses, overtime, and extensive employee benefits apply.

Location: Grantham. 45-hour week with weekend rota. Training in EV and hybrid technology is provided, along with generous holidays, pension, life assurance and tool insurance coverage.

Qualifications

• Hands-on workshop experience as a mechanic or technician.
• Experience in franchised dealership environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive vehicle servicing, including oil changes and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across braking, steering, suspension and basic engine systems.
• Complete electronic vehicle health checks (eVHCs) and record findings.
• Record accurate technical findings and parts requirements on digital job cards.
• Complete standard warranty repairs in line with factory protocols and timeframes.
• Maintain workshop productivity to meet efficiency and first-time fix targets.

Education

NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

IMI / City & Guilds qualification or equivalent

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role for a Level 3 qualified Technician, or a Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with at least 3 years’ experience, working with one of the UK’s leading automotive groups on a wide range of vehicles. Excellent salary, benefits, overtime, and bonus opportunities available.

Pay / salary: Up to £35,103 basic per annum plus bonus and overtime, OTE £45,000 per annum

Skills and experience

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent IMI / City & Guilds qualification).
• Hands-on workshop experience as a mechanic or technician, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.

Job responsibilities for the Vehicle Technician role

• Carry out comprehensive vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and component updates, in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across braking, steering, suspension, and basic engine systems.
• Complete thorough Electronic Vehicle Health Checks (eVHCs) to identify and record any work required.
• Record accurate technical findings and parts requirements clearly on digital job cards.
• Complete standard warranty repairs in line with factory protocols and agreed timeframes.
• Maintain high levels of workshop productivity to meet individual efficiency and first-time fix targets.
