Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic on behalf of a leading UK vehicle rental specialist. The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or Level 2 with 3 years' experience, and a full UK driving licence. Location: Bideford.

Salary: £34,000 basic per annum with bonus and overtime, OTE £37,600+. You will perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a wide range of vehicles, using modern diagnostics to identify faults and ensure MOT

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or Level 2 Technician/Mechanic with at least 3 years' experience.
• Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for workshop duties.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, vehicle health checks, and maintenance across all makes and models
• Fitting brakes, exhausts, batteries, clutches, cam belts, and suspension components
• Utilising the latest specialized diagnostic technology to identify, test, and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults
• Executing light-to-major mechanical repairs required for vehicles to pass official DVSA MOT tests
