Job summary

Protyre Autocare in Plymouth is seeking an enthusiastic Service Technician to join our growing team. We are a fast-growing national automotive company offering superb training and development opportunities.

You will carry out safe, high-quality work across vehicles, including fast-fit tyre fitting with alignment readings, brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and more. This role requires a keen eye for diagnostics and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• Level 3 Automotive Qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience with mechanical and fast-fit repairs across vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, high-quality work on each vehicle.
• Perform fast-fit tyre fitting using alignment equipment and readings.
• Fit brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and other parts.
• Carry out MOT repairs.
• Follow vehicle inspection procedures and health & safety rules.
• Use diagnostic equipment to complete thorough testing and repairs.
• Advise on additional issues and timelines for future repairs.
• Work in a safe manner and comply with safety regulations.

Overview

Protyre Autocare is looking for an enthusiastic Service Technician to join our growing team. We are a fast‑growing national automotive company offering superb training and development opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure the work completed on each vehicle is carried out safely and to a high standard.
• Completing fast‑fit tyre fitting whilst using an alignment machine and understanding the readings and relevant adjustments.
• Fitting brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and other mechanical products.
• Carrying out MOT repairs.
• Adhering to company procedures of the vehicle inspection process.
• Using relevant diagnostic equipment to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and of highest quality.
• Advising on other issues vehicles display, including common issues vehicles of certain makes and ages develop, and offering timelines for future vehicle repair needs.
• Working in a safe manner and always complying with health & safety regulations.

Requirements

• Full current UK Driving Licence held for at least 6 months (age restrictions may apply – points or offences may affect your application).
• Level 3 Automotive Qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification related to the automotive industry).
• Experience with mechanical and fast‑fit repairs, which may include tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension and general servicing repairs to a wide range of vehicles.
• The ability to work as part of a busy team in a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
