Job summary
Ingersoll Rand Compressor Systems & Services is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join the team in South-East England. You will be responsible for maintenance, breakdowns and commissioning across compressed air equipment, with travel across the south-east region and occasional overnight stays.
The ideal candidate has a minimum HNC in a relevant discipline, proven diagnostic skills, strong product knowledge of compressed air systems, and a full driving licence.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC level in an Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or Electromechanical discipline.
- Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical/mechanical systems.
- Extensive product knowledge within the compressed air industry.
- PC literate.
- Full driving license.
Responsibilities
- Attend on-site to perform breakdown repairs on all compressed air generating equipment.
- Attend on-site to perform preventative maintenance on all compressed air generating equipment.
- Maintain verbal and written communications with customers and others in a professional manner.
- Liaise with technical or office-based personnel to understand specific job requirements.
- Ensure work is carried out with customer approval and in line with EHS guidelines.

The opportunity has arisen to join the Ingersoll Rand Family. We are now looking for an experienced Compressed Air Field Service Engineer to join the team. Responsible for Maintenance, Breakdowns & Commissioning on all makes of Compressed air equipment. The role will mainly cover the south-east England however some further travel and overnight stays may be required. The ideal candidate will have experience in all types of compressed air technologies.
- To attend the customer’s site to perform breakdown repairs on all compressed air generating equipment.
- To attend the customer’s site to perform preventative maintenance on all compressed air generating equipment.
- Maintain verbal and written communications with customers and others as seen necessary in a professional manner
- Liaise with the technical or office-based personnel to achieve a clear understanding of specific job requirements as necessary
- Liaise with customers to ensure that any work is done with their approval
- Operate in accordance with company EHS guidelines
- Minimum HNC level in an Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or Electromechanical discipline
- Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical/mechanical systems
- Extensive product knowledge within the compressed air industry
- PC literate
- Full driving license
- Field based role, operating out of our Ashford Office
- Must be willing to travel extensively in the south-east region with overnight stays as required
- Ability to work alone possessing a balanced judgement
- Commercial Awareness
- Willing to travel at short notice
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the compressed air industry
- Ability to communicate well and deal with other
- Must be customer centric
