Job description

If you are looking to be part of a service that genuinely transforms lives and puts people at the centre of everything it does, Elevate Supported Living could be your next opportunity.

We are seeking a caring, motivated, and values-driven Therapeutic Service Manager to lead a single, dedicated 1:1 supported living placement. This is a slightly different role to our standard Service Manager positions: rather than overseeing multiple properties, you will provide consistent, hands-on management of one placement and the small staff team supporting it, building a genuinely trusted and stable presence for the person we support.

Whether through professional experience or lived experience, you will bring empathy, reliability, resilience, and a willingness to learn and grow.

At Elevate, we don't just provide support — we create environments where people feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

About Elevate Supported Living

Elevate provides both standard and enhanced therapeutic supported living services for adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and complex needs. Our approach is person-centred, therapeutic, trauma-informed, and outcomes-focused, supporting individuals to live as independently as possible.

We actively promote pathways into education, employment, training, and social enterprise, helping people build meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Everything we do is guided by our Core Values:

  • Integrity – We do the right thing, even when no one is watching
  • Inclusion – We respect and celebrate individuality
  • Accountability – We take ownership and deliver on our commitments
  • Innovation – We continuously improve and think creatively
  • Service User Focus – We put the people we support at the heart of every decision
The Role

As Therapeutic Service Manager for this placement, you will take day-to-day ownership of a single, dedicated service, providing stable, consistent leadership rather than moving between multiple properties. Compared with our standard Service Manager role, this position involves less direct, hands-on personal care and a greater focus on management, oversight, and relationship-building.

You will:
  • Take full day-to-day management responsibility for this 1:1 placement, ensuring support is delivered safely, consistently, and to a high standard
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the staff team supporting the individual
  • Oversee shift coordination, ensuring duties and rotas are clearly organised and consistently covered
  • Proactively manage staffing gaps, providing cover or arranging additional support where required
  • Build and maintain a genuine, trusted, and consistent relationship with the person we support, acting as a reliable and stable presence within the placement
  • Support relief and agency staff to integrate effectively into the placement where used
  • Promote best practice and consistency in care delivery across the staff team
  • Support staff development through coaching, guidance, and informal supervision
  • Provide advice on care planning, risk management, safeguarding, and effective placement management
  • Liaise with the wider management team, family members, and other professionals involved in the individual's support
  • Carry out appraisals and regular supervisions, supporting the team's performance, wellbeing, and continuous improvement
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and values‑led practice
Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
  • Weekends off as standard
  • Some flexibility may occasionally be needed to meet the needs of the placement
About You

We are looking for someone who not only has the right experience but also demonstrates the right values, approach, and personal qualities for this specific placement.

This role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement for a male post holder, under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, owing to the personal care and specific relational and therapeutic needs of the individual supported within this placement.

You will:
  • Be male, in line with the Genuine Occupational Requirement described above
  • Ideally be physically fit and active, and comfortable taking part in physical activities and pursuits alongside the person we support
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable adults, including recognising and responding to abuse
  • Support the individual in a safe, trauma‑informed way, ensuring their wellbeing and dignity are always prioritised
  • Confidently manage complex behaviours, using calm, consistent, and effective de‑escalation strategies
  • Bring experience or a strong understanding of Autism (ASD), ADHD, and FASD‑specific needs
  • Be warm, personable, and able to build genuine trust and rapport, using appropriate warmth and humour to build connection
  • Show a genuine commitment to long‑term consistency and stability within the placement
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the individual's development needs, ensuring holistic support is delivered
  • Contribute to a positive, person‑centred culture within the placement
  • Act as a positive role model for staff, demonstrating professionalism and values‑led practice
  • Support and mentor staff in their development
  • Carry out appraisals and regular supervisions, supporting performance, wellbeing, and continuous improvement
Experience Required
  • Mental Health Support – 2 years (required)
  • Support Environment – 2 years (required)
  • Learning Disabilities – 1 year (required)
  • Autism (ASD) – 1 year (required)
  • Experience supporting individuals with ADHD and/or FASD (desirable)
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training, including therapeutic practice
  • Regular supervision and reflective practice
  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development
  • A supportive, values‑led team culture
  • The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference in someone's life
All staff are expected to:
  • Work in line with Elevate's Core Values
  • Maintain high standards of care and professionalism
  • Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and equality policies
  • Engage in continuous learning and development
