Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative is seeking a Service Manager in Pembrokeshire to lead a dedicated team delivering person-centred support to people with learning disabilities. The role involves weekend and sleep-in shifts, plus driving duties for transport.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, develop services, and coach staff to achieve the highest levels of independence and quality care for the people we support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in social care.
• Level 5 Health and Social Care qualification or working towards it.
• Willing and able to use own car and travel for meetings and activities.

Role: Service Manager

Location: Pembrokeshire

Hours:

Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary:

£34,416.57paand our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract:

Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

As Service Manager you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the support service as well as proactively engaging with the continued development of the service.You’ll provide motivational leadership and direction to your team, enabling them to provide quality, person centred support to the people we support.

You’ll carry out frequent reviews of the support requirements provided, including service delivery plans, support plans, progress log and risk assessments following the principles and practices of person-centred and relationship-centred Active Support.You’ll manage a team of support workers with responsibility for all aspects of team management and development as well as encouraging and coaching them to creatively problem solve and develop.

Above all else your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of support and independence for the people we support to make everyday remarkable.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
• Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
• a strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
• a working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
• flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
• access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 45p per mile to cover this
• a drivers licence and happy to travel for meetings and training.
