An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Service, Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in bespoke food processing machinery and equipment.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of machinery at customer sites throughout the UK and overseas. International travel is a key requirement of this position, so candidates must be willing and able to travel abroad regularly, potentially working flexible hours to meet customer and project requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical engineering background, with experience in machinery installation, servicing and fault-finding. Knowledge of PLCs and HMIs would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
Regular overseas travel is an essential part of this role, alongside UK-based installations and service visits. Candidates must be comfortable working away from home and adapting to varying customer schedules, site conditions and project demands.
Flexibility is also required to support emergency breakdowns, out-of-hours work and occasional weekend commitments. Participation in a shared Christmas breakdown cover rota, covering the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day, will also be required.
An engineering apprenticeship or relevant City & Guilds qualification would be advantageous. Experience with PLC and HMI systems, including programming or troubleshooting, would also be beneficial, although training may be available for the right candidate.
If you are a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer looking for a varied role combining workshop-based engineering with UK and international travel, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills and work on specialist machinery in a customer-facing environment.
