Job summary

PALFINGER MARINE is seeking a Service Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of lifeboats, davits, winches and cranes. You will perform service, maintenance and repairs on vessels and offshore installations, diagnose issues and report findings to clients and management.

The role requires technical education and experience across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, plus knowledge of PLCs and control engineering. Offshore exposure and strong communication in English are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Secondary technical education at MBO level or equivalent, preferably in mechanical engineering.
• Several years of relevant technical work experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control engineering.
• Knowledge of PLCs, frequency controllers and proportional controllers, including Volkel M42 / HCX systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience in the maritime or offshore industry is preferred; good communication skills and English or Dutch language ability are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare service assignments by reviewing reports and manuals and confirming spare-parts availability.
• Assess technical conditions and perform service, maintenance and repairs onboard vessels and offshore installations.
• Carry out mechanical work and service load-sensing and proportional hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control engineering issues for safe operation.
• Report activities and findings to the service coordinator, service manager and client, including administrative settlement.

The Service Engineer ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of PALFINGER MARINE equipment by preparing andperforming service, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on lifeboats, davits, winches and cranes. The role provides technicalsupport to customers onboard vessels and at offshore installations, while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with companystandards.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare service assignments by reviewing previous reports and manuals, verifying spare-parts availability and confirming thatall requirements are met


• Assess technical conditions and perform service, maintenance and repairs on lifeboats, davits, winches and cranes onboardvessels and offshore installations


• Carry out general mechanical work and service load-sensing and proportional hydraulic systems


• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control-engineering issues to support safe and reliable equipmentoperation


• Report completed activities and technical findings to the service coordinator, service manager and client, and complete therelated administrative settlement

Your Qualifications

• Secondary technical education at MBO level or equivalent, preferably in mechanical engineering


• Several years of relevant technical work experience, with a broad background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and controlengineering


• Knowledge of PLCs, frequency controllers and proportional controllers, including Volkel M42 / HCX systems


• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel andOutlook


• Experience in the maritime or offshore industry is preferred; good communication skills and English or Dutch language abilityare advantageous
