Job summary

Palfinger UK are seeking a Specialist Dealer Service Engineer to join our aftersales team. You’ll be trained to maintain and repair our advanced lorry crane systems, with structured training and ongoing technical development.

The role involves on-site servicing across the local area, with a focus on delivering high-quality support, diagnostics, and customer training. A full UK driving licence is required and there is structured progression within a family of engineering roles.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable work experience as a Service Engineer / Plant Fitter maintaining and repairing hydraulic equipment.
• A recognised apprenticeship, C&G or NVQ in Plant Maintenance or related qualification.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Regular crane servicing.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and software issues on customer sites.
• Performing LOLER inspections and safety checks per industry standards.
• Providing technical support and training to customers.

Hours

40 hours per week Monday – Friday

Additional overtime is available at TX1.5

Key Duties Will Include

Our Service Engineers work across the local area delivering on‑site support to our own brand of lorry loader cranes, including:

• Regular crane servicing.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and software issues on customer sites.
• Performing LOLER inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Providing technical support and training to customers.

The Ideal Applicant

• Applicants must have demonstrable work experience as a Service Engineer / Plant Fitter maintaining and repairing similar hydraulic equipment such as construction plant, forklifts, agricultural machinery, access equipment or taillifts. This is essential.
• A recognised apprenticeship, C&G or NVQ in Plant Maintenance or associated qualification.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
