SL Engineering Consultancy Ltd in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Lifting Equipment Engineer. The role covers inspecting, servicing and repairing a range of lifting equipment both on-site and in our workshop.

You will perform LOLER inspections and ensure compliance with PUWER and safety regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on inspection and repair experience with chains, slings, shackles, hoists and lifting beams, and holds a Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting, servicing or repairing lifting equipment.
• Good knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsabilités

• Carry out LOLER inspections on lifting and handling equipment.
• Inspect, service and repair chains, slings, shackles, hoists, lifting beams and runway beams.
• Identify faults, defects and safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety legislation.
• Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out on-site and workshop inspections and repairs.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:00pm | Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Lifting Equipment Engineer to join a well-established and growing business specialising in lifting and handling equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing a wide range of lifting equipment, both on-site and within the company's workshop.

Duties of a Lifting Equipment Engineer

• Carry out LOLER inspections on a variety of lifting and handling equipment.
• Inspect, service and repair chains, slings, shackles, hoists, lifting beams and runway beams.
• Identify faults, defects and potential safety hazards.
• Ensure all equipment complies with LOLER, PUWER and relevant safety legislation.
• Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out both on-site and workshop-based inspections and repairs.

The Ideal Lifting Equipment Engineer

• Previous experience inspecting, servicing or repairing lifting equipment.
• Good knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
• Experience working with chains, slings, shackles, manual/powered hoists and lifting beams.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.
• Flexible approach to overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
