Job summary

Control Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking Field Service Engineers to cover UK-wide roles for packaging machinery, including service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns.

Candidates should be multiskilled, able to read schematics, fault-find, and train customers. Willingness to travel and stay away from home is required; Ireland/Europe opportunities may arise. Benefits include company car, overtime, private health care and pension.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.
• Experience uploading/downloading software to PLCs and HMIs.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home; some Ireland/European travel possible.
• Health & safety conscious, proactive and good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns of packaging machinery.
• Read mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, installations.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance.
• Travel across the UK to customer sites with occasional overseas work.

Salary

circa £50,000 – 60,0000 basic + car + overtime + private health care + 10 - 15% bonus + pension + 33 days holiday + training + credit card, fuel card, expenses, allowances

Hours

Monday to Friday (weekend work / overtime available if desired)

The Job:

• Varied work including service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery.
• Read mechanical and electrical drawings / schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, installations.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance.
• Different roles available typically in 3 areas; can be working on slicing and processing machinery, thermoforming machinery or end of line packaging machinery.
• Machinery such as checkweighers, metal detectors, X-ray inspection, pack validation vision systems, sealing machinery, seal integrity systems, automated boxing and sleeving systems, end of line inspection and automation systems.

The Person:

• Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.
• Experience in uploading and downloading software to machine components, PLCs, HMIs or similar control systems.
• Flexible to travel and stay away from home – a couple to a few nights per month on average. Ireland or European work available occasionally.
• Health & safety and hygiene focused, friendly, proactive, good communication, desire to learn and improve.
