• Full UK driving license required.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Attending customer sites for routine servicing and repairs on garage equipment.
• Fault finding and repair on breakdowns, plus planned preventative maintenance.
• Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.

Job description

We’re recruiting for an efficient and reliable Garage Equipment Service Engineer based in the North West of England with travel across our UK branches.

Hours

Full time: Monday – Thursday 8am - 5.30pm and Friday 8am - 4.30pm

About the role

As a Garage Equipment Engineer/Surveyor for Arnold Clark, you’ll travel between various UK sites, specialising in garage equipment for reactive and planned work.

This role suits someone with previous field-based engineering experience, particularly with hydraulics and/or pneumatic garage equipment in a mechanical engineering environment. You should be able to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule, as overnight stays may be required.

Day-to-day duties

1. Attending customer sites for routine servicing and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic garage equipment, including vehicle lifts, compressors, and MOT equipment
2. Fault finding and repair on breakdowns, plus planned preventative maintenance of ramps and garage equipment
3. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly
4. Ensuring the van is stocked with necessary parts and tools
5. Collaborating with other engineers and service controllers

Essential skills

• Experience in a similar field-based garage equipment maintenance role
• High organisation and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Full UK driving license
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Teamwork skills

Nice to have (but not essential)

• Microsoft computer skills
• Plant vehicle maintenance experience
• LOLER certification to surveyor level
