• Ideally qualified in mechanical and electrical applications (NVQ, ONC, HNC).
• Experience with mechanical repair and installation, especially for test equipment.

Job description

Service Engineer (Test Equipment)

Location: Home-based with extensive UK travel.

Salary: Competitive salary plus car and associated benefits.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Calibration, maintenance & installation of test equipment.
• Mechanical diagnostics, fault finding, and repair of test equipment.
• Basic electrical fault finding.
• Installation of test equipment.
• Equipment testing and sign off during installation and servicing.
• Travelling to customer sites to service test equipment throughout the UK.
• Ability to work towards stringent quality standards to include ISO/IEC 17025.

Person Specification:

• Ideally NVQ, ONC, or HNC qualified within mechanical and electrical applications.
• Good mechanical repair and installation experience, ideally within test or measurement equipment.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills, as will be required to use Microsoft Excel, email, and to set up machines onto a Wi-Fi network.
• Ability to work under your own initiative unsupervised onsite with clients.
• Keen and eager with a willingness to learn about new equipment, processes, and testing techniques.
• Flexible approach to travelling as there will be nights away in the week to support strategic clients.
